About the city Kamalia


KAMALIA is one of the emerging cities of Pakistan. It is located on the bank of River Ravi in the center of Province Punjab. It is very old city. This city is named from a person Kamal Khan Kharal. it is famous for its Khaddar (kind of cloth) and Poultry.


Kamalia is a Tehsil of District Toba Tek Singh and it is under the Division Fasialabad having about 230 kilometers from Lahore. It is developing very quickly. It has many colleges, Schools, hotels, Plazas, hospitals and entertainment places. It has two big bazaars i.e. Sadar bazaar and Iqbal Bazar where there is a lot of shops of daily uses things. In a very short time you will see, this city will have a big name in Pakistan. InshaAllah…Kamalia has many historical places… One of  its old historic place is Jameya Markazi Masjid Mughlia Shahi near another old Masjid “JAND WALI”. Hundred of years ago here was River Ravi. Another Old Building is Darbar Fazil Diwan.Kamalia was a town in the district and tehsil of Montgomery, Punjab, 27 miles west of Montgomery town, and 14 miles from Chichawatni station on the North-Western Railway. In the reign of Abraheem Lodhi, Khan Kamal Khan Kharal, aristocrat of area Fateh Noor along with his family left home for Dehli and he met in the Jungle Nawab Rai Hamand of Hindal Nagri who was also Kharal. Being commoner, they drew near each other and Khan Kamal Khan Kharal stayed there for some time. Meanwhile, Khan Kamal Khan presented a sheet of cloth to Hazrat Shah Husain and he predicted the happy news of Ravi Desh for him which came true. Abraheem Lodhi dethroned Hamand because of his being in old age and appointed Khan Kamal Khan Kharal the ruler of Hindal Nagri. In 1526 Abraheem Lodhi was killed by Zaheer-ud-Din Babar. These days, Khan Kamal Khan Kharal was also killed by the sons of Rai Hamand. Then, a year later, the son of Khan Kamal Khan took revenge of his father’s murder. Then he, in place of deserted Nagri of Raja Sarcup, founded a settlement Kote Kamal Khan after the name of his father Khan Kamal Khan Kharal, today the same is Kamalia.. In the Indian Rebellion of 1857, it was one of the sites of an uprising by the local people, who held it for a week. It had a population of 6976 in 1901. It was identified by Cunningham as one of the towns taken by Alexander the Great in 325BC

Kamalia has a big Education Unit of Govt High School No. 1 Kamalia and many other schools i.e. Govt High School no.2 , Govt Lab Higher Secondry School. and many other Govt and Private Schools.It has a big College for boys named as Govt. PST Postgraduate College and other college Govt Commerce College. It has a big college for DAE students named as Govt College of Technology. Besides this a University is under construction near Kamalia. Kamalia City is well known for its Decoration on Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH) every year. Every person tries his best to decorate his house and streets. Well Known places for lighting and decoration is Hashmat Chowk, Cheeni Chowk and Dogar Chowk.Urs o Mela Darbar Shaheedan Mohallah Fateh Pur is a major event in Kamalia and like it other Uroos are also held here. Various types of circus, stalls and Mehfils are conducted in shrines of saints.
